The wife of embattled Delta State content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu of Asaba, has come out in defence of her husband following allegations that he r@ped 20-year-old Favour Agbro, who later died after ingesting a toxic substance.
The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, made her remarks in a video uploaded to the content creator's page on Wednesday, stating that she would continue to stand by her husband regardless of the circumstances.
Ogbonna, 40, was arrested by the Delta State Police Command in connection with the alleged r@pe of Favour.
According to police, the suspect invited the young woman to Asaba under the pretext of teaching her content creation, before taking her to a hotel where he allegedly r@ped and physically assaulted her.
Speaking in the video, however, Ogbonna's wife rejected the rape claims outright, insisting that whatever happened between her husband and Favour was consensual.
"Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody. I know my husband…. Odogwu Asaba did not rape Favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl," she said.
She further argued that her husband's character made the allegations hard for her to believe.
"He cannot r@pe, he has never. Even when he did not have fame, he did not rape anybody, is it now?" she said.
The woman explained that she had taken time to understand the situation before deciding to speak publicly, and made clear where her loyalties lay.
"I am trying to follow the matter the right way; I have not been silent. I want to let you people know that no matter what happened, he is my husband and I stand with him 100%. I'm not going to turn my back on him," she said.
She also cautioned the public against drawing conclusions from social media narratives, urging restraint until the legal process runs its course.
"How I feel, what I feel, how I see it is my personal decision. Everything is not actually the way they presented it. Before I could come out to talk, I have learnt a lot about this matter. Social media is not a courtroom. You people should bear that in mind," she said.
Acknowledging the tragedy of Favour's death, she said it was the reason she had chosen to approach the matter with caution rather than react hastily.
"Yes, someone has died and that is why we are taking it easy. But Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody," she said.
She added that her husband would eventually have the chance to tell his own side of the story once he returns.
The woman said she had been married to Ogbonna for eight years, and that the couple has four children.
According to police, Favour travelled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after Ogbonna allegedly offered to train her on monetising her TikTok and Facebook pages through content creation.
She later returned home distressed and narrated the alleged incident to her parents before recording a video detailing her ordeal.
She subsequently ingested a toxic substance and died while receiving treatment.
Police said Ogbonna's arrest followed a petition filed by the deceased's family, adding that investigations were ongoing and that he would be charged to court.
Ogbonna has not been convicted of any offence, and the rape allegation remains subject to investigation and determination through the appropriate legal process.
