A Nigerian man identified as Neme Love has taken to social media to call out men who mistreat their ex-wives and neglect their children after a marriage ends, insisting that he would happily part with a significant share of his wealth for his own kids.
Sharing his thoughts on Facebook, Neme Love said he personally knows five men in his community who fall into this category, describing their behaviour as ‘wicked’ and suggesting it partly explains why some Nigerian women respond the way they do after their marriages fail.
‘I'm not going to lie.. Some of my married male friends or acquaintances are wicked.. that is why I don't blame some naija women for matching the energy they were dealt.. I have 5 guys in my community circle that are EX-HUSBANDS.. If I call your case no vex - you are wicked..’ he wrote.
He then narrated the story of one friend who allegedly quit his job to avoid paying child support after his ex-wife, with whom he shares two kids, demanded financial assistance.
‘1.) One of them filed for divorce, started dating a woman that is wealthier than him.. His EX - Wife is asking for child support for his two kids with her.. Guess what homeboy did.. He quit his job and started taking Govt Assistance.. then making money through other means plus support from his rich new girl that is not a Nigerian.. Tomorrow now if his EX-Wife comes online to say one or two things about naija men we will eat her up.. How wicked can one be to go to the extent of quitting your own job..’ he wrote.
He also spoke of a second friend who, according to him, has completely ignored his ex-wife and child while living lavishly.
‘2.) The other one acts as if his ex-wife and kid does not exist but he is living la vida loca..’ he added.
While acknowledging that women are not always blameless in failed marriages, Neme Love maintained that some men take their bitterness too far.
‘I won't call all the cases today.. but when I think of it.. Some of you men have dealt so unfavorably to Naija women and it's really not fair.. The women are not all innocent, but Mehn.. sometimes you don't even have to go all Prince of Demon on someone.. be gracious.. To be honest some of you are very wicked!! There are so many things I can never do to a lady that has given me kids..’ he stated.
He then laid out his own stance, saying he would be content to live simply on a fraction of his income if it meant his children's mother received a fair share of his wealth.
‘This is my opinion sha.. if a woman has given me 2-3 kids that I need in this world.. If she wants to take half of my wealth even 60%.. she should.. who do you people think I am doing all these things for??? I've even done the maths.. If I have a house, 2 cars, Solar etc. I can be more than OK with N2m a month (N500k a week) by myself in Naija.. I'm not a drinker - so I'm not going to any club to declare for you.. my biggest expense will be food.. and I'm not even much of an eater.. if you know me, you know I'm simple like that.. I'm not into all that laow-laow spending.. eji eme gini…’ he explained.
He rounded off his post with a pointed question directed at the ex-husbands he referenced.
‘So all you wicked Ex- husbands in my acquaintance list.. this entire money you've made.. who did you make it for?? I want to learn..’ he concluded.
