Kidnappers are holding four men and demanding two virgin girls for their release in Ajoni Local Government Area of Ekiti State after armed men abducted a middle-aged woman in Ekamarun community, r@ped and killed her in late February 2026.
The kidnappers contacted the family, demanding ₦1.5 million, Indian hemp, coc@ine, a synthetic drug known as ICE, and cartons of canned beer to release the corpse as was reported by VANGAURD.
Villagers could not provide the drugs but raised and delivered cash equivalents through four brave men, who went to make the delivery but the kidnappers seized men.
The kidnappers then sent a message to the community with their own demands to free the four men, threatening to k!ll the men too, causing fresh panic in the community.
The letter addressed to comunity leaders include Abimbola Omotoyinbo of Itapaji and Chief Kehinde Abejide of Irele, who described the situation as a sustained siege.
Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, confirmed the events, calling for immediate action by authorities to address the attacks.
Local residents warned that continued inaction could lead to retaliation and possible genocide urging President Bola Tinubu to intervene.
Community leaders stated their political representatives have remained silent, sending only condolences.
