A heartbreaking betrayal has left a Kenyan family devastated when a 35 year old man reportedly set fire to the very house where he lived alongside his elderly parents according to a Facebook post by user Eric Mboya on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
The son had grown increasingly frustrated with what he saw as his father's stinginess.
'The man claims that his father doesn't give him enough money.
'On Friday, he asked for Ksh 5000 to go out and enjoy with friends, his father told him hana. He went and came with petrol which he used kuchoma nyumba.
'He lives in the same house that alichoma,' Eric Mboya wrote.
The flames consumed the home, turning a place of shared meals, laughter, and daily routines into ashes, while the parents faced the unimaginable horror of their own child destroying their livelihood and memories.
