Otutochi "Tochi" Wigwe began a new chapter of her life this week, celebrating her traditional marriage to investment executive Wilson Omogbale Aikhomu. She did so without the three family members who would have stood closest to her.

Her aunt, in a social media tribute, said as much. She reflected on the absence of Tochi's parents, Herbert and Chizoba Wigwe, and her elder brother, Chizi, who d!ed in a helicopter cr@sh in California on February 9, 2024.
Quoting Isaiah 61:3, the aunt described the occasion as "beauty for ashes". She said she was grateful that Tochi was able to step into a new season of life despite the family's painful loss.
The ceremony brought together members of the Wigwe and Aikhomu families, alongside friends and loved ones. It featured traditional marriage rites and cultural festivities in a colourful celebration.
The aunt shared details of the day, including the payment of the bride price, the signing of family documents and the formal handing over of Tochi to her husband.
Tochi is the daughter of the late banking executive Herbert Wigwe, former Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings. He also founded the Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe Foundation to preserve his legacy.
Her husband, Wilson Aikhomu, is a Lagos-based investment professional. He is Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Zoya Admiralty. He is the son of the late Rear Admiral Joseph Omozuwa Aikhomu and nephew of former Chief of General Staff, Admiral Augustus Aikhomu.
Earlier reports in September 2026 indicated that the couple were planning a private wedding, with details largely kept away from public attention.
