The Nigerian entertainment industry is in mourning following the sudden death of popular actor, Alexx Ekubo, with close friend and colleague, Godwin Nnadiekwe, publicly expressing his devastation after the star passed away on Tuesday afternoon.
Early reports stated that the young screen star was placed on life support for several hours before he died.
According to multiple reports, Alexx was rushed to the hospital on Monday after quietly battling liver cancer for several months, a struggle that explained his prolonged absence from social media.
Reacting to the heartbreaking news on his Instagram page, Godwin poured out his pain, describing Alexx as a rare soul whose death was completely unexpected.
“I’m struggling to find the words. This news has truly broken me. Nollywood has lost a rare soul, and I’m lost for words because this wasn’t the plan, Alex Ekubo. To think you already prepared your will — It’s a heartbreak I can’t quite describe. Rest well, my friend”
In a second emotional post, Godwin directed his grief at the illness that cut his friend’s life short.
“Goodnight Alex. Cancer you did this one.”
Nnadiekwe also revealed how deeply shaken he was by the fact that Alexx had already arranged his affairs and prepared his will before his passing.
