The family of a murdered mother says they are “heartbroken and disgusted” following the imminent release of her killer after a failed attempt to challenge the decision.

As reported by THE ISLE OF THANET NEWS, Dean Williams, who murdered his partner, 40-year-old mother-of-two, Mary Malkin, in 2005, is set to be released after the Parole Board ruled there was no legal basis to reconsider its decision.
Williams had been serving a life sentence with a minimum term of 20 years and had previously been refused parole twice.
However, following a hearing last year, the board directed his release, with preparations now underway.

Mary’s younger sister, Franky Dillon, said the decision means the man responsible will now be free to live the life her sister was denied.
She described years of missed birthdays, Christmases and family moments, adding that the pain of the loss continues to grow with time.
The Parole Board said its decision was based on evidence of Williams’ progress in custody, including work to address his behaviour and alcohol misuse.
It concluded that strict licence conditions would be sufficient to manage his risk in the community.
Williams will remain on licence for life, subject to strict restrictions including monitored movements, controlled contact, and supervision by probation services.
