A quarrel between two young people in Minna, the Niger State capital, has ended in marriage, and then in a second wedding.

Journalist Muhammad Hassan Sonmaji, who is based in Niger State, narrated what happened.
He said it began when a young woman identified as Nana and a man named Isah got into an argument.
During it, Isah told her he was not qualified to marry her.
‘On Wednesday night, an unusual incident that started as a joke reportedly turned into a real marriage at Sani Mai Indomie’s spot in Shiroro, Minna, the Niger State capital,’ he wrote.
‘Isah reportedly told Nana that he was not qualified to marry her, but she challenged him, saying that if he was serious, he should immediately bring out N100,000 and pay her bride price.’
‘To everyone’s surprise, Isah put his hand into his pocket, brought out the money and handed it over to her.’
‘As things unfolded, the tea seller volunteered to act as the bride’s guardian (Wali), while another man named Ado offered to represent the groom’s side.
‘A marriage ceremony was subsequently conducted.’
Nana’s father was then contacted.
‘However, when Nana’s father was contacted, he reportedly rejected the arrangement and insisted that they should come to his house the following morning for another marriage ceremony,’ Sonmaji wrote.
‘Interestingly, the marriage was formally conducted again on Thursday morning at the bride’s father’s house, after which the bride moved to her husband’s home.’
