A 14-year-old girl abducted in Kaduna State has been released after three months in captivity, following the payment of N5 million and four motorcycles to her kidnappers, according to journalist and former media aide Reuben Buhari.
Buhari, who once served as media aide to late Kaduna State Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, shared details of the girl's ordeal in a Facebook post on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
According to him, the girl was abducted alongside her elder sister and forced to trek for three days before reaching the bandits' camp.
He alleged that she was sexually assaulted from the day she arrived at the camp, an ordeal that continued throughout her three months in captivity.
She was finally released after her parents met the kidnappers' demands.
‘She is just 14 years old. She was kidnapped with her elder sister, and they trekked for 3 days before getting to the camp,’ Buhari wrote.
‘She was r@ped from the day she got there and released 3 months later when her parents paid N5 million and 4 motorcycles.’
Buhari said the teenager is now back home and recovering, with medical tests showing no lasting physical effects.
‘She is now back, recuperating and medical tests showed no physical lasting effect. Pray for her,’ he wrote.
