23-year-old Tannu Singh, a passionate aspiring model and devoted mother to her young son Abhay, allegedly ended her life after a seemingly playful family moment turned devastating.

According to reports from The Times of India and India Today, Tannu had married auto-rickshaw driver Rahul Srivastava about four years ago in a love marriage later approved by both families.
The tragedy struck last Wednesday afternoon when Rahul, Tannu, her sister Anjali, and little Abhay were at home after returning from a relative's house in Sitapur.
During casual banter, Rahul and Anjali allegedly mocked Tannu and referred to her as a "monkey", hurt and silent, Tannu left the room without a word while Rahul stepped out to get food.
Upon returning, he asked Anjali to call Tannu who approached the locked room and peered through the window, she saw her sister hanging from the ceiling.
Shocked, Anjali screamed for help; Rahul and neighbors rushed in, broke the door, took Tannu down, and rushed her to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
The post-mortem confirmed hanging as the cause of death.
Rahul, speaking to authorities, described the comment as "a joke, nothing else," insisting it was never meant to harm. Family members noted Tannu was sensitive about her appearance and dreams in modeling, making the words especially painful.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ghazipur (Indiranagar) Anindya Vikram Singh told reporters, "We got information about the suicide from the locals but no information was received at the police station."
