A 23 year old man identified as Bassey Ubi has been arrested for allegedly killing his father in a shocking incident that occurred over the weekend in Cross River State. The tragic event took place at their family compound located at O3 Palace, Usaja, in Ikpakapit Ward within the community.
According to reports, the suspect is accused of attacking his father with a machete shortly after the older man returned home from church.
Witnesses say the attack resulted in a severe cut to the victim’s neck. The injury was fatal, and the father reportedly died at the scene before any medical help could arrive.
Authorities have since taken the young man into custody as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
