* Many marriages look perfect from the outside but quietly struggle with deep internal pain
* Emotional 'prison wardens' like bitterness and unhealed wounds can jail couples without any outward drama
* A new book promises to name and heal these issues so couples can truly enjoy marriage again
Renowned Marriage Clinician and author, Bisi Adewale is currently writing a heartfelt new book has shares a powerful message that will be touching thousands of couples. At the just concluded Youth Annual Conference Ablaze held at Living Spring Hall, Ikeja, the author explains that marriage problems rarely start outside the home. They begin inside the heart.

"Marriage does not first fail outside. It fails inside," he said. "Many marriages are like beautifully painted houses with leaking roofs. From the street, everything looks fine. From inside, buckets are everywhere."
He stresses that real success in marriage must start within. "If marriage will succeed outside, it must first succeed inside. You can wear matching clothes, do pre wedding shoots, and post anniversary pictures, but if the heart is sick, the marriage will cough sooner or later."
One upcoming chapter has already captured hearts with its unusual title: Marriage Prison Wardens. The author reveals there are exactly 50 of these wardens quietly destroying relationships from within. They are not outsiders or family members. They are internal struggles such as unhealed wounds, silent bitterness, unspoken expectations, accumulated offenses, hardened hearts, and the common "I’m fine" that really means "I’m tired."
Many couples stay together without fighting or cheating, yet feel emotionally trapped. "The couple is still together, but joy is on life support. Love is breathing with oxygen. Communication is on strike," the author observed.
The book, titled Heart Surgery in Marriage, is written to bring healing and joy. "This book is confronting those wardens one by one," the author promised. "It is written to help you enjoy marriage again. Not manage it. Not endure it. But enjoy it." Singles, married couples, pastors, and counselors are all expected to find clarity and hope in its pages.
The author invites readers to prepare their hearts slowly. "This is not a book you rush through. This is a book you sit with. A book you discuss. A book you return to."
Youth Fire Conference Ablaze 2026 is organized by Family Boosters Ministry with the theme Fire In My Bones which is a monthly program happening every last Sunday of the month. The program encourages youth to be intentional about serving God fervently with burning desire in the service of God while on earth.
