A Herne Hill family has raised more than £290,000 for leukaemia research in memory of their teenage daughter, Ruby Fuller, continuing a legacy shaped by her final wish to help others.

According to SOUTHWARKNEWS, Ruby, a former head girl at Charter School North Dulwich, died in 2020 aged 18 after battling blood cancer.
Before her death, she asked her family to donate some of her savings towards research rather than spend money on flowers.

A request that became the foundation of a growing fundraising movement.
Described as passionate about justice and kindness, Ruby also left behind a message encouraging people to “live kindly, live loudly”, a phrase that has since driven the campaign in her name.
Her family, alongside friends and supporters, organised a wide range of fundraising efforts, including challenges, events, and community initiatives, helping the total climb steadily over the years to more than £290,000.
The funds are supporting vital research into blood cancers such as leukaemia, including studies into how genetic errors affect cancer cells, with the aim of improving future treatments.
Ruby’s family says the overwhelming support has turned grief into purpose, allowing her compassion and strength to continue making a difference long after her passing.
