A security guard, identified only as John, at an Asda supermarket in Kidderminster has been praised for a touching act of kindness after helping a young mother and her two children get home safely during bad weather.

The staff member stepped in when he noticed the mother worrying about how she would walk nearly two miles home with her children in torrential rain.
Without hesitation, he arranged and paid for a taxi so the family could travel home safely and stay dry.
The grateful mother later shared the story on social media, describing the guard as “an absolutely wonderful human” who came to her aid when she was stressed about the difficult journey ahead.
Her message quickly drew attention online, with many community members praising John’s compassion and generosity.
Residents who know the security guard said his kindness did not surprise them, describing him as a friendly and caring person who often goes out of his way to help customers.
Asda management also applauded the gesture, saying they were proud of the employee for going above and beyond to help a customer in need.
The company later reimbursed him for the taxi fare and recognised his actions through its internal reward scheme.
