“His ambition is worth more than the life of our parents? Wow.” That was the question Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, put to Nigerians after Peter Obi’s comment about sending money home to relatives.

Bwala made the remarks in a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday. The Presidency has taken a swipe at Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), over the comment, which Obi has already refuted. Bwala described Obi as wicked and desperate.
Bwala said Obi remarked while speaking to Nigerians in Manchester. ‘Have you seen the wickedness of the wicked? Peter Obi said this while speaking to Nigerians in Manchester,’ he wrote.
He then put the claim in terms of family.
‘Even if your parents are dying, do not send them money until this government is voted out. Meaning that your parents should rather die than he (Peter Obi) loses the election (which he will never win though),’ Bwala said.
He added: ‘By now this must be clear to the voters to know how desperate and wicked he is; but also that he is very aware of the bullish nature of the Obidients and that he implicitly endorses what they do.’
Bwala’s post came after Obi had taken to his own X handle on Tuesday to say his message was twisted. Obi said the money Nigerians in the diaspora send home for school fees, hospital bills, rent and feeding expenses cannot be taken for granted.
