In the Jalade Ekeinde household the vibrant energy of a close knit family once included open discussions about justice and society with Omotola, beloved mother of four and veteran actress had long used her platform for advocacy including strong support during the massive EndSARS protests in October 2020.

Omotola recounted the terrifying escalation on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds broadcast on Sunday February 8 2026.
“I am used to death threats; I have received them many times. But I have never seen anything like what happened during EndSARS. It was intense my kids started getting death threats. That was when it became real and when I realised this was no longer just about me,” she said.
“When people started coming to my home and workplace looking for me I knew it was time to think beyond myself. I had to protect others especially my children,” Omotola explained.
The once fearless activist who thrived on direct action now faced sleepless nights worrying about her kids' vulnerability in a charged environment where misunderstandings fueled vicious attacks.
As her children grew into young adults gaining independence Omotola confronted a painful reality.
“I can’t control where they go. I can’t protect them as much. I don’t care for my life but I do care for them,” she stated.
