The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested Peter Sinamai, 30, a resident of Sangere Gombi Local Government Area, in connection with the alleged killing of his biological father, whose body was dumped in a well.
The corpse has been recovered and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
The suspect was arrested following a report received by the command's operatives.
Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the suspect allegedly killed his father and disposed of the body in a well within their community.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, has ordered a discreet and thorough investigation into the matter to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson of the police command, confirmed the arrest to newsmen, saying the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
