A Las Vegas man has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend and her two children during a confrontation over infidelity, according to an arrest report.
Police were called to an apartment complex shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday after the suspect, Juan Orona, drove himself to a police substation with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and reported that he had shot his girlfriend and her children.
Officers who responded to the apartment found Nohani Flores Osuna and her two children, Noah and Maiya, with gunshot wounds, and pronounced them dead at the scene.
During questioning, Orona allegedly told detectives that he had confronted Flores Osuna after noticing her vehicle parked near that of her ex-boyfriend.
He claimed she admitted to being unfaithful and made a comment comparing the two men.
According to police, Orona said he blacked out during the confrontation and later became aware that he was holding his 9mm Glock handgun while Flores Osuna and her children lay on the floor.
He reportedly did not deny shooting the victims but claimed he could not remember whom he shot first or why.
He told detectives he knew he needed to turn himself in and be held accountable.
Investigators recovered 10 spent 9mm cartridge cases from the apartment, while a Glock 19 handgun and ammunition were found in Orona's pickup truck.
Orona's father told detectives that his son had called him around 7 p.m. and said he had hurt his girlfriend and her children, before accompanying him to surrender to police.
Orona is facing several charges, including three counts of open murder with a deadly weapon and 10 counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.
He made his first court appearance on Thursday and is expected back in court on September 9.
