The perfume drama that rocked Nigerian social media escalated as food critic and fragrance enthusiast Opeyemi Famakin addressed the heated backlash sparked by his review of Thayour B, the luxury perfume line launched by Tayo, wife of popular singer and influencer Yhemolee.

Priced at ₦160,000, the fragrance drew Famakin's candid assessment, describing it as "not bad at all" but pricey for the quality, famously noting issues with the packaging by saying it was "peeling" and advising to "sack the people that imprinted it for you."
The review quickly went viral, prompting a fiery response from Yhemolee, who accused Famakin of bitterness and ulterior motives tied to a rejected ₦6 million paid review request.
In his reply on social media platforms, Famakin pushed back against the personal attacks, stressing his commitment to honesty.
'Someone can reach out to you for ads, not be able to afford your ads. And then you use your money to purchase the product. And then rate the persons product a 7.5/10,' he posted.
He continued, 'Be objective about it and say the things you like and dislike about it. And still be seen a bad person who wants to ruin someone’s business.'
