On the night of Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Digare town within Gwana District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, suspected bandits stormed the residence of Imam Abubakar Muhammad Digare, the Chief Imam of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS).

Under the cover of darkness, the attackers invaded the family home, overwhelming those inside and abducting several people.
Local sources described a chaotic scene where gunmen swiftly seized victims and vanished into the shadows, leaving behind shattered doors and terrified neighbors who could only watch helplessly.
Security analyst Bakatsine broke the news on Sunday, drawing from accounts on the ground.
'Last night, suspected bandits launched a brazen nighttime attack in the residence of Imam Abubakar Muhammad Digare, Chief Imam of JIBWIS in Digare town, abducting several people, including his wives and daughters.
'The attackers reportedly stormed the home under the cover of darkness, forcefully taking multiple victims to an unknown destination,” Bakatsine wrote.
He added, 'The shocking incident has sent waves of fear through the local Muslim community and heightened concerns amid the worsening security crisis affecting many parts of the country.'
