Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele has sparked fresh conversations after sharing her thoughts on social media, responding to recent comments about movie promotion tactics.
Known for her fun, dance-filled videos that hype her blockbuster films like the record-smashing ones still topping charts, the actress and filmmaker addressed what felt like indirect shade.
Her post came right after fellow director Kunle Afolayan spoke about finding constant dancing and skit-making too draining for promoting cinema releases, even praising how she and others pull it off daily.
In her heartfelt Instagram Story message, Akindele kept it real and empowering. 'I'm not the one hindering your progress. Ka rin ka po, yiye ni n ye ni. If you can't beat them or join them, create your own path. No allow jealousy burn you. The sky is so big for everybody to fly...' she wrote, mixing wisdom with a touch of playful call-out.
She encouraged creators to innovate. 'Go ahead and create alternative promotion or marketing strategie for promoting your business, or hire a company to handle it. You can do it!
'The opportunities are endless, and everyone has their own path. I'm focused on mine, and I have faith in God's plan for me.'
