A former French police officer and self-declared "fathers' rights activist", Cedric Prizzon, has been arrested in Portugal over the suspected killing of the mothers of his children after allegedly kidnapping them.

The suspect was apprehended by Portuguese authorities following reports that he abducted his partner and ex-girlfriend along with their children.

He is believed to have later killed the two women in what investigators suspect is linked to a custody dispute.
Prizzon also known as a former rugby player, had reportedly been involved in ongoing conflicts over custody arrangements.
Authorities revealed that he had previously lost custody rights, and had a history of legal issues tied to harassment.
Police say the arrest followed an intense investigation spanning multiple locations, and through the suspect’s background in law enforcement.
The children involved have since been located.
