The traditional ruler of Arochukwu, late actor Alex Ekubo's hometown in Abia State, has claimed that Ekubo's wife is pregnant.
The claim was made on Wednesday, June 17, as Ekubo's body arrived in his hometown for a wake-keep ahead of his funeral, which is scheduled to take place today, June 18.
The convoy carrying Ekubo's body stopped at the palace of the Eze Aro of Arochukwu, where the monarch said a prayer over the casket.
While praying, he asked God to ensure that Ekubo's lineage does not end.
He also claimed that he had received news that Ekubo's wife is pregnant, and prayed for the safe delivery of the child.
"If its father ate with Presidents, it will eat with more Presidents," the Eze Aro prayed.
The claim has not been verified by Ekubo's family.
Nonetheless, the monarch's remarks have generated significant reaction online, with many Nigerians expressing joy across social media platforms.
