Karla Lopez, a 17-year-old mother from Fort Worth, Texas, is being charged after her 6-month-old son died in a car crash.

Officers with the Fort Worth Police Department arrested Lopez shortly after the accident earlier in March as she faces one count of reckless injury to a child resulting in serious bodily injury, according to authorities.
The baby was identified as Sebastian Reyes, who was just 6 months old at the time of the crash, was killed in the fatal crash, which took place on March 7 near the intersection of Rock Island Street and Azle Avenue.
Police confirmed the details to US WEEKLY, saying the driver of the vehicle ran a stop sign and collided with another car.
Sebastian, who was unrestrained in the vehicle, was ejected from the car upon impact, suffering serious injuries.
Emergency responders transported the baby to a nearby hospital, where the medical staff attempted life-saving treatment, but the infant could not be saved and died from his injuries.
Lopez was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, who was treated and arrested her, shortly after the accident.
Police have not shared the condition of the other person involved in the car crash as no additional details about the investigation have been released yet.
It is not clear if Lopez may be hit with additional charges while the investigation continues.
