A bizarre incident in Bengaluru has sparked outrage after a family attempted to “courier” an elderly man in a gunny bag as part of a protest over rising bus fares ahead of Ugadi and Ramzan.

According to The Indian Express, the family arrived at a courier office in the Vyalikaval area carrying a large sack and requested that it be delivered to Mangaluru.
When staff insisted on checking the contents, they were stunned to find a living man inside.
Despite being told that humans cannot be shipped as parcels, the group allegedly insisted that the agency proceed, even questioning why the business could not fulfil their demand.
The situation drew attention from onlookers before the family left the scene.
Police later traced the group, who admitted the act was staged as a social media reel. The intention, they said, was to highlight the surge in travel costs during the festive season, which had prevented the elderly man from travelling.
Authorities issued a warning after the family apologised, stressing that such acts were irresponsible and potentially dangerous.
