Two-year-old Mary Shantel survived the wound she got from a stray bullet that hit her during opposition protests against presidential vote re-run in Kenya.

Her mother, Lydia Kageha speaking about the incident said she was playing outside the house with her friends when she suddenly fell in pain.

She added that the little girl was immediately transferred to a hospital where the bullet lodged in her shoulder was removed by a doctor.

The incident occurred in Kisumu, where another boy lost his life through a gun shot during a violence a day before.
