A 38-year-old woman, Gaje Zubairu, who gave birth to quadruplets through Caesarean operation at the General Hospital, Malumfashi, Katsina State, lost her life on Sunday, 29th October 2017.

According to Punch report, Dr. AbdulHamed Abdullahi, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital confirmed the death of Gaje to Northern City News.

He said: “Yes, the woman died about 11 this morning (Sunday). But I will call you back to give you details as I am driving.”

Sources from the hospital explained that she was in good health condition after the Caesarean session and already preparing for the naming of the babies which led to the conclusion that she didn’t die of complications.

A source said, “Gaje had already scaled though the operation stress and we were looking forward to the naming ceremony of the babies.”

“A good Samaritan had even purchased the ram that is to be slaughtered on Wednesday for the naming ceremony. We were just alerted this morning from our duty post to her sudden restlessness and few minutes later, she was dead.”

Gaje’s body has been moved to her village, Gora Dansaka for her burial rites to be done on .

According to a source from the family, the babies who were a girl and three boys were delivered by the medical team at the General Hospital, Malumfashi, Katsina State but on the evening of the day of delivery, one of the quadruplets died.
