The Northern part of Nigeria is made up of 19 states and in many of these cities, there are beautiful places which you will love to visit.

Kano state which is the most populated state in the north and even in the entire nation according to the country last population census.

Kano state has many tourist centres like Dala Hill, ancient Kano City  Wall, Kano Zoo, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital etc.

If you are travelling to Kano state you, note the followings. 

Do not dress scantily. 
A large chunk of the people of Kano indigenes is predominantly Muslim. The religion has a huge influence on their way of life. In line with religious beliefs, women wear clothes which cover their body. The people see women that dressed scantily as temptations to their religion.

Prepare for the hot climatic changing. 
The climate in Northern Nigeria is very hot during the month of April to June. During Hammanttan, from the month of November all through to March the weather is extremely cold.

So, this is one of the battles you have to overcome on a visit to the region. you need a hat, sun glasses and bottles of water if you are going there during heat period and Cardigown, wool socks etc if you are going during harmattan.

You have to plan your itinerary properly so that your trip is not disrupted by the scorching sun or cold weather.

Get a local that speaks Hausa fluently. 
Having someone who can speak the local language has its pros. You get everything you buy at an affordable price, and you will feel secured especially when you are among strangers. The truth is that you cannot find your way if you do not speak Hausa. So hire someone who speaks Hausa language.

Stay away from religious arguments. 
Whether you agree or disagree with their religious creed, you should keep it to yourself. As a visitors or tourists, you should focus on exploring the various destination at your disposal. Hausa people do not joke with their religion. Do not allow anyone drag you into any religious argument.

Avoid public display of affection. 
Men and women mingling is not frowned let alone displaying your affection to your lover. It is not allowed to hold an opposite sex on the streets or playing expensive love play on the streets.  If you want to display any affection, you must do privately and also ensure that men and women do things separately.

Be security conscious. 
Security consciousness must be your watch word whenever you visit the northern part of Nigeria. Thank God, the Nigeria government is winning the war against Boko Haram, religion crisis and peace is returning gradually to Northeast Nigeria.

However, this doesn’t wander indiscriminately. In addition, always remember to inform your friends about your whereabouts.
    
