The peace-truce between North Korea and the United States is fast becoming a reality as President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un are likely to meet in Singapore next month.

North Korea who had been a major concern to world peace lately with their ambitious nuclear weapon build up. This singular act saw them gather more enemies than friends as they had been slammed with several sanctions from the international community.

Surprisingly, the 37 years of Kim Jong Un embraced peace, as he met with the South Koran president recently, this visit was the first time in decades that a South Korean President would be meeting a North Korean leader the peace move by North Korea has prompted so much interest across the globe. The latest of the peace movement would be a meeting between the United States and North Korea.

Trump over the weekend has said that the two sides would meet in a location and a date yet to be decided.

“We’ll be announcing it soon,” Trump told reporters.

The landmark summit will take place in “mid-June”, South Korea’s Chosun Ilbo daily reported Monday, citing diplomatic sources who quoted Trump’s National Security Advisor John Bolton.

Insinuations have suggested that the location for the record-breaking meeting would be Singapore.

Trump had previously suggested that the demilitarized zone between the two Koreas — the site of the recent summit between Kim and Moon — could also be an appropriate venue for his meeting with the North’s leader.

Other possible sites reportedly included Mongolia and Switzerland.

The grandson of Kim Il-sung, the first leader of North Korea from 1948 to 1994 and Kim Jong Un was the first North Korean leader to have been born after the country’s founding.

Before taking power in 2011, Kim was rarely seen in public, and many of the activities of Kim and his government remain unknown.

Even details such as what year he was born, and whether he did indeed attend a Western school under a pseudonym, are difficult to confirm.
