Nigerian nurse, Hadiza Ndayebo, gave birth to a set of quadruplets on Monday, December 18th, 2017 after waiting for the past 17 years of her marriage.

The quadruplets, two boys and two girls were delivered at the Jumai Babangida Aliyu Maternal and Neonatal Hospital in Minna, Niger State.

According to Northern City News, the nurse got pregnant of the quadruplets through artificial insemination after consulting different specialists to get pregnant but with no results.

It was revealed that for over seven months, the mother of quadruplets had been on admission in the hospital for proper monitoring until she delivered the babies.

Speaking to Northern City News, Ndayebo said she had earlier lost a baby before she now experienced childlessness that lasted over 16 years.

She added: “I went through artificial insemination because I had been battling with infertility for over 16 years. By December 28, it will be my 17th year in marriage. Although 10 years ago I had a normal pregnancy but I gave birth pre-term at 28 weeks and the baby died after some days.”

The mother of the four babies, who is the second wife of her husband, revealed that none of her family members believed her when she told them that she was pregnant with quadruplets.

According to reports, one of the four babies died after delivery, Ndayebo spoke about the loss, she said: “The babies are two males and two females. Losing one of the female is the will of God. My family did not believe I was carrying quadruplets but they are joyous when they came.”

She also shared her experience through the 17 years of childlessness, she said it was not easy, she added: “but at the end of the day God made me triumph over all the challenges.”

The father of the quadruplets, Alfa Mamood, spoke about the endurance, patience and prayers of 17 years that it had yielded positive results. He, however, prayed for God’s provision so as to take care of the babies.

The Staff Affairs Officer of Jumai Babangida Aliyu Maternal and Neonatal Hospital, Comfort Tsado, said the birth of the quadruplets has not been seen before in the hospital.
