The Redeemed Christian Church of God holds Funeral Service today 30th June 2017 to say goodbye for Late Pastor David Oluwole Obanure one of the Special Assistants to Pastor E.A Adeboye and Assistant General Overseer of the church. RCCG Says goodbye to beloved Pastor Olu Obanure, Daddy G.O’s Assistant

The funeral service started by 10:00 am at RCCG National Headquarters, Throne of Grace, Ebutte Metta, Lagos. The Chaplain Corps accompanied the body of the late Pastor who died as a General of the Corps and also one of those that started the Chaplain Corps of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. RCCG Says goodbye to beloved Pastor Olu Obanure, Daddy G.O’s Assistant

The Mass Choir of RCCG rendered songs and hymns to bless God for the life of the Late Pastor after which Pastor Ayo Akinloye gave the message for the service. Pastor Akinloye spoke about the departed Man of God, he said: “he is a man who cannot hurt a fly” and that he died standing in the Lord.

Pastor Akinloye an Assistant to the General Overseer said in his message that the sudden death of Pastor Olu Obanure is a message to the church that the coming of the Lord will also be Sudden which is why we must all watch.

In attendance at the Funeral service was The Acting President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who is also a co-pastor with the deceased. Reverend Badejo, the former General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church, Senior Pastors of RCCG and also ministers from different ministries in West Africa and Europe were also in attendance.

Pastor David Obanure served the Lord immensely in the Redeemed Christian Church of God most of his Christian journey. He served as a Pastor in Nigeria before he was transferred to Ghana where he served God till he died on the 2nd of May, 2017. He is survived by his Wife, Children, Siblings and other members of his family.

Everyone at the funeral paid him last respect and a special performance was done for him by officers of the Chaplain Corps of RCCG while the National Anthem was also recited. His immediate younger sister Professor (Mrs.) Fola-Adebayo gave the vote of thanks on behalf of his family.

Pastor David Kuo, a member of the Governing Council who was the state Pastor of Late Pastor Obanure for four years back in the 80s spoke at the cemetery to the dailyfamily.ng
correspondent, he said: “he is kind and a loving man. You can’t forget him suddenly”.

Indeed he can’t be forgotten easily as everyone at the funeral appeared moody because of the impact the late Pastor had on their lives.
