RCCG Convention: Miracles of birth, birth toll to 106 babies

The 2017 annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has come and gone but then one of the outcomes of the convention which ended on Sunday is the birth of a total of 106 babies in seven days.

The ‘baby rush,’ began on the first day of the week-long programme, climaxing with an additional 12 arrivals on Sunday, as the ordination of full-time pastors drew the curtains on the events highlighting the 65th convention.

During the anointing service at the weekend, the figure stood at 94 babies. But on a cumulative count the final analysis, stepped up to 60 boys and 46 girls, with three boys and nine girls added on the final day, Sunday.

Speaking at the Sunday Thanksgiving service, the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said he was the most blessed GO while recounting all the wonderful deeds of God during the yearly programme.

Testimonies of a various kind also dominated the convention, with a popular actor with Mount Zion Drama Ministries, Isaac Ore-Adewole, testifying to miraculous recovery of his damaged vocal cord.

During the Friday Holy Ghost service, the General Overseer of the ministry, Pastor Adeboye also brought out the wooden staff handed over to him by the late founder of the church, Pa. Josiah Akindayomi. He symbolically lifted it up, for miracles to begin in the lives of the congregants.

Having lifted it, he noted that the wooden staff of authority was rarely brought out and whenever such happened, it was always at the directive of the Holy Spirit.
