Prince Williams and Prince Harry are commissioning a statue in remembrance of their mother The Princess of Wales, Princess Diana who died in a car crash almost 20 years ago.

They held a service at Princess Diana’s family home in Northamptonshire as the day would have been the 56th birthday of their mother if she was alive.

In attendance at the service was the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby conducted the service at Althorp house.

It is difficult for the Princes to forget their mother who showered them with so much love while she was alive. They were young when they lost their mother to the car accident that claimed her life and they wished they were older to have been able to protect her.

The service was a private affair but the commissioning of the statue will be made public in the future to mark her 20th anniversary. The statue will be placed in the public grounds of her former residence at Kensington Palace.
