President Buhari will work from Home for 3-months after rats invade his office – Spokesman

Following the eventual return of Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on the evening of  Saturday 19th, there may be the need for him to administer the country from his home.

According to the presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, it was gathered that the president’s office needed some required renovation after the damage was done to the furniture and air conditioning in the president’s absence.

The spokesman had said rats did this damage.

In an interview granted BBC, Shehu said the president had a “well-equipped” office at home that he could work “perfectly” from.

This has led to great concern for Nigerians as the primary place to administer the affairs of the country should be the seat of power in Aso Rock as against any home or residential apartment order than the one the Constitution recognizes as the seat of power.

Speculations from some Nigerians also indicated that the fact that he left out details regarding the state of his health from his speech might also be playing its part in him choosing to administer the affairs of the country from his country.

Amidst several speculations, the doctors might have also directed that he handles issues relating to the government with ease.

While he was away on the medical vacation, some Nigerians had staged several protests calling for his resignation if he won’t return home again. If you will recall, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, led such protest. Several others who won’t protest were angered by officials’ refusal to disclose the exact state of the president’s health and how he is faring in London.

President Buhari first travelled to London in June 2016 for what was disclosed by his office as a persistent ear infection. He returned in January and May this year for an undisclosed illness.

Opposition politicians have claimed he was actually receiving treatment for prostate cancer – an accusation Mr Buhari denied.

The presidential spokesperson also added in the interview with BBC’s focus on Africa that;

“There’s nothing at all to worry about as to the condition of his own health. From everything we have seen from the president – we have a new Buhari: energetic, well focused and it is clear he is enjoying excellent health,”

However, the executive governor of Ekiti state in southwest Nigeria, also a member of the opposition party, Mr Ayodele Fayose stated that the audio message the presidency released during the recent Ramadan celebration message is a cover up on the president’s state of health as Buhari not only having voice impairment but has been on life support at the Western London hospital since 6th of June 2017.
