The planned protest of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Kaduna State is to be stopped by security operatives as surveillance has been mounted at major roads that lead to the state secretariat of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

Members of NLC from other states have been reportedly prevented from entering Kaduna state for the Anti-Government protest as Policemen have been drafted along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
However, NLC officials from the national secretariat and labour leaders of affiliated unions from the 36 states of the federation are already in the state in preparation for the rally.
Kaduna state government and the police had earlier warned teachers against embarking on any illegal procession or engaging in any activity that violates the law or threatens the peace of the state.

The State Commissioner of Police, Agyole Abeh who spoke to journalists on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, said any breach of peace by the striking teachers would be dealt with definitely.
