It was a massive gathering of football enthusiast yesterday, January 4, as the Confederation of African Footballers award 2017 award list of outstanding footballers in the African continent.
The annual event which was hosted in Ghana’s State House Banquet Hall in Accra, played host to a large gathering of African footballers and African football decision makers from all over the continent, Africa.
In no particular order Mohammed Salah of Liverpool clinched the title as Africa’s footballer of the year in the male category, scaling above Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who were also competing for the title.

It was a wild cheer garnished with tears of joy as two-times winner of CAF African female footballer of the year, Asisat Oshoala incessantly shed tears of joy as she wouldn’t believe she is winning the title for the third time and as a matter of fact, after many had tackled her over her move from Arsenal to Dalian Quanjian F.C. in China.
While speaking during the time she had received the award, the former Arsenal player said.
“This is the best moment of my career”
“When i left my team in Arsenal and i mixed to China people said, Asisat, your career is going to be gone but i told myself i can do this and here i am today.
“I want to use this opportunity to encourage everyone out there, don’t let anyone talk you down, don’t listen to people, follow your heart”.

Best male coach of the year goes to Egyptian National team coach, Hector Cuper. Cuper beat coaches from Nigeria and Wydad Athletic Club to this winning of his.
