Some men painted in Orange have stormed the streets of Uyo and have been pictured with the Honorable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon. Victor Antai.

According to report gathered from National Helm, the orange men were said to be creating awareness in Uyo ahead of the Orange September Campaign, a commemoration of Akwa Ibom’s 30th year anniversary.

Pictured with the orange men, in Uyo, the commissioner recently said some series of events had been planned to position the state by showcasing the diverse and enigmatic colours of the state’s collective history, unity in diversity and the depth and range of our indigenous entrepreneurship.

Hon Atai who spoke to a section of the media on September 5, said.

“We are set to colour Nigeria and the World at large Orange and let them know that we are a great people with a unique cultural heritage. Akwa Ibom’s 30th anniversary is one in a lifetime and must be celebrated in style. Collectively, as Nigeria’s highest oil and gas producing State, we are celebrating our optimistic, sociable, hospitable, adventurous and industrious nature. We are simply interpreting Gov Udom’s vision with Orange September.”

According to the commissioner, the Orange September will kick-off with the Orange Festival, a carnival at the Ibom Unity Park on September 16 to showcase the culture of Akwa Ibom State, groups, troupes and floats.
