Someone once defined wholeness to mean nothing missing,nothing broken and nothing stolen which in the Hebrew language means shalom.
Wholeness can also mean to be, completely perfect and pure.
Therefore where wholeness in a family is concerned, it means the family or home operates in the elements listed above.
WHAT ARE THE THINGS A HOME EXHIBIT BEFORE IT CAN BE SAID TO BE WHOLE.
- salvation : The salvation of one member of your family is not enough. When you are the only Christian in your family, it demonstrates to you that,you have a long way to go. Imagine in a family of ten and one person have one million naira, it means that person have one hundred thousand naira only. No wonder the holy Bible records that he that wins a soul is wise.
For you to be whole; try to be born again and get as many as possible in your house to do same with you.
But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
Mathew 6:33.
- Be determined to prosper:
This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.
Joshua 1:8.
There is no prosperity outside continuous study. Give yourself to reading. Encourage your spouse with a book. Develop your children mentally and emotionally. Children tends to do what they see their parents do. Be a role model to your family in the school of prosperity by reading.Readers are leaders and parents are ladders.
3.Make your faith attractive to your family.
John C.Maxwell once wrote ‘ attitude is the difference maker’
Don’t just live, make sure you live life and you live right. You can not give what you don’t have.Build up yourself in the place of character. Let your children, spouse and the people around you know that you are unique.
Don’t because of your faith look dirty, unintelligent or in-social.
Be unique in every area.The reason many children are one thing at home and another thing out there is because they just play along with the believes of the parents but don’t believe in it.
Be of good conducts, let the fruits and gifts of the holy spirit be evident in your life.
But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,
Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].
And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human naure) with its passions and appetites and desires.
If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward [h]walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]
