We will be talking about George Weah’s determination to succeed academically and his rise to prominence in Liberia political terrain despite all odds.

For proper explanation into this, it all began in 2005 when he went for the highest political office in Liberia (contesting in Liberia’s presidential election), then he ran for the office of the president of Liberia, competing with the likes of Harvard university graduate, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who later defeated him to it on the account from opposition party that he is only popular and does not have the educational capacity to win the election and equally lead the war torn-apart nation.

This honest fact being settled, sent Weah back to school in 2006. He Obtained his SSCE (2006, at 40), his degree (2011, aged 45) and masters (2013, aged 47).

All these being made within the space of 8 years, destiny compensated him for his die hard tenacity and he was elected to the Liberian Senate in 2014 at 48 years old.

Validating the saying that a true leader never rest on his past achievements, he mount up to the pursuit that failed him in 2005 and in 2017 the former Ballon D’or winner again emerged winner of the presidential election in his country.

Three lessons to be learnt here ahead 2018.

1. Failure will come. But never give in to it. George Weah had all reasons to give up but he wouldn’t do that to himself, despite pressing opposition challenges in 2005 presidential election.

2. With Determination anything is achievable. Starting with SSCE, Weah would have been discouraged at 40 years old to sit for a school certificate examination that his first and second children already had but his story here tells of a man’s determination to succeed despite all odds.

3. Dangerous tenacity. Weah is one man that knows how to stay through even when it seems things are not working in his favour. His tenacity can be likened to that of a bull dog that wouldn’t give up on a bite until it sees blood dripping.

This is a lesson for you clean from ahead 2018.

If Weah under 12 years can achieve all of these, then when you make up your mind to succeed you must also be willing to act on your convictions.

Your determination in 2018 will be the differentiator and permit us to say, the determinant of you succeeding
