“We met in the Teenage Choir” - Popular Comedian Sacco

Nigeria’s foremost ethical and versatile comedian, Okundalaiye Ayodele popularly known as “SACCO” got married to his long-time heart-rob, Aghogho Idogun, now Aghogho Okundalaiye. In this exclusive interview with DailyFamily, Sacco tells us more about his marriage and family.

Can we meet you, please?

My name Okundalaiye Ayodele but they call me Sacco. I am a Master of Ceremony and a stand-up comedian.

You have been married since when?

For a long time. For about four years now.

The Experience has been?

The Experience has been amazing. We are learning all the time I thank God.

How did you meet her?

Yeah, her name is Aghogho Okundalaiye. I met her, we met in the teenage choir we used to be in Redeem, and we met as friends. She went to the university, I went to the university and while she was in school we started a Relationship and we have two children now and the relationship is still going.

At what point do you think she is supposed to be your Wife?

You know there are some people you will see and you like them naturally. That is, from the first day I saw her I liked her naturally, you know it was like someone you like naturally and then as you grow older you are in the choir together and you see all the time and it gets better and better. I remember very well as a teenager that one day I will get married to her because when we go to a concert and we see couple singing and I tell her one day we are going to stand on the stage together and I will play keyboard you (she) will be singing. And the reality is she sings and I may not be playing the keyboard but sometimes I back her up.

Is there anything that you don’t know about her that you know about her that you realize when you got married despite the years you have been together?

Well, what do I not know about her

Because I know a lot.  At least 80 percent about her.

In these last four years, what are those new act she exhibited that you haven’t seen before?

I think if someone offends her she tends to remember it and you know I tell her and say see, as Christians these things can hinder us and it’s a process.

And she is growing after that?

Yes, she is growing in this.

I say see, people have offended me but as much as possible but you know the reality, when you are, then, put your peace together, don’t react to them but keep living

But has blessed you beyond where you are and that is a testament that God is blessing you. Is not that you see them and remember the wrongs

Both of you are in the entertainment industry?

No, she is not fully in the entertainment industry. For some time we were taking care of the children but now I am pushing her out. She is an amazing singer, so I am pushing her out.

Are there any challenges you think you can face if you both are in the Limelight?

One thing that is key is raising Godly children so I think when it gets to that level I believe God will bring people because we are careful about getting house helps. I know we are still going into it and we trust  God will put some strategic good people into our lives to help us take care of the children.

Well, I don’t get busy all the time like that. I get busy on Saturdays.

How many Children do you have?

I have two children. I have a daughter and a son. Mature children actually.  The first one is 3, the other one is 10.

How did you feel when you had your first Child?

You know when I saw the picture of the scan I was excited about it, seeing my daughter jumping and dancing. I said to myself that I am also a dad.

Does she look like you?

Yes. She looks like me actually, my son looks like me.

Thank you, God bless.

Buhari: 12 million Nigerian children are afraid of attending school

post-image

According to President Buhari, 12 million children in the country have been traumatized and are frightened to attend  school because of the high prevalence of kidnapping.

On Tuesday, October 26, the President announced this during the launch of the Safe School Programme in Abuja.

The President, who was represented at the ceremony by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, also stated that dealing with security concerns in the country has been difficult.

“The incessant attacks on the country’s education system such as kidnapping, abduction of pupils/students, increased activities of insurgence and general insecurity in our schools have exacerbated many factors responsible for the growing number of out-of-school children.

It is disheartening to note that even when the abducted students are released, the trauma of the incidences remains long in their minds; hence the plan to have teachers trained on psycho-social support.

There are more than 12 million children currently traumatised and afraid of…

APC: Nigerians still trust us, we will win 2023 elections convincingly

post-image

Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), claims it would “convincingly” win the next gubernatorial election in Anambra and the presidential election in 2023.

John Akpanudoedehe, national secretary of the APC caretaker committee, said on Thursday, October 21 at the inauguration of the state congress appeal committee in Abuja that all members of the APC should see disagreements “within the party as family disputes and should not seek to destroy the platform which helped them in the past.”

“With the huge membership strength we have recorded during the last registration and revalidation exercise, there is no doubt that Nigerians still trust us and that we will win all the upcoming elections convincingly, starting from the governorship elections in Anambra, to Osun, Ekiti, and to the 2023 general election,” he said.

“Therefore, there is a greater need to sustain the trust of our party men and women and indeed all Nigerians.
