The Ekiti State Police has declared a rape suspect, Tope Adeniyi, wanted after he allegedly raped his wife’s sales girl in Ijero-Ekiti.
Reports gathered reveals that the rape victim (names withheld), aged 17 had spent few years as an apprentice under the wife of the suspect, but decided to stay further to assist her in the medicine shop the suspect’s wife operated.
According to Vanguard’s report, Police Public Relations Officer of Ekiti State Police Command, Alberto Adeyemi, confirming the incidence said.
The suspect, a father of six children, ran away after learning that the Police were after him.
Tope had called on his wife’s sales girl to serve him a sachet of water in his room at a house located at Agbangudu in Ijero-Ekiti last week Monday when the victim was raped.

Narrating her ordeal, the victim said:
“It was a Monday afternoon. I was in the shop when he (Tope) called me to bring ‘Pure Water’ to his room. He has been alone throughout the weekend. I never knew he had such plan in mind.
“After giving him the sachet water I was about moving out when he (Tope) suddenly grabbed me. I tried to resist but he was more powerful than me.
“He pushed me to the bed and covered my mouth with a pillow. I tried to shout so that other tenants around could come to my aid, but nobody heard my voice.”
The victim said the suspect had his way forcefully with her and ended up defiling her.
In her observation, she noted that there was blood stains all over her panties.
Meanwhile, the wife of the suspect came back from Lagos, few days after the incident happened and was informed of the incident. She was initially arrested by the Police in Ijero-Ekiti but later released due to her current condition.
An elder brother to the victim, Mr. Ropo Ojo, confirmed that the victim was taken to the government’s hospital in Ijero-Ekiti where she is presently undergoing medical attention.
The suspect’s whereabouts is yet to be known as at press time.
