Fourth Mainland Bridge, We Need Private Funding To Actualise It-Ambode

The Governor Of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has said the state needs private funding to finance the construction of the much talked about Fourth Mainland Bridge and various project in the state.

The proposed  Fourth Mainland bridge is a very important project to every Lagos family as it will help reduce the amount of time spent in traffic.
The Governor stated this on Thursday at the 2017 annual lecture of the law firm of Punuka Attorneys and Solicitors in Lagos an event. The governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor Dr. Idiat Adebule, said more public-private partnership (PPP) in infrastructure funding, including the proposed Fourth Mainland Bridge, will make the state the state number one in Infrastructure development and a preferred destination for investment.
The governor confirmed that his government is not shying away from its responsibility but essentially releasing scarce resources to other important sectors of the economy of the state.

In the words of the governor,

“Some critical projects we have identified to be implemented through collaboration with the private sector include the Fourth Mainland Bridge, the Okokomaiko road expansion project, Oko-Oso-Itoikin road dualization and the Ikorodu-Agbowa-Itoikin-Ijebu-Ode road project,” he said.

The theme of the occasion was: “The role of public-private partnership in infrastructural development.”

Ambode said his government will not rely on revenue as the only source of funding for developmental projects.

The proposed  Fourth Mainland bridge when completed will help ease the sufferings of Lagosians who spent countless hours on The Third Mainland Bridge daily.
