Tom Brown is satisfactory as it fills up the stomach. It also contains Vitamins and Minerals that nourish the body.
Ingredients for making Tom Brown
Tom Brown can be prepared with or without plantain. Note that the plantain must be sun-dried if you are using it. Other ingredients include:
- Groundnut
- Corn (optional) hard to mill when fried
- Crayfish
- Soya bean
- Guinea corn
Fry all ingredients separately as you would Fry groundnut. After frying, De-coat the soya bean seed.
Grind all together till it’s becomes powdered form.
Your Tom Brown is ready!
Store in airtight container, it can last for months to a year.
It’s better to prepare it the way you prepare oaths.
Here is the procedure for preparing Tom Brown:
- Mix quantity needed in water
- Put on low heat while stirring to avoid being burnt
- Stir for 7-10mins
- Put down when thick as desired
- Add sugar and milk to taste
- Serve as desired.
You can add brown sugar or powdered dates
How to make powdered dates
Open up the dates and remove the seed
Wash thoroughly then sundry
Take to the mill or use a blender to grind into powder and store in a jar.
