Award winning Nollywood Actor and the MD/CEO of Ceroms Media Productions, Mr Ehizojie Ojesebholo aka Jimi Bendel spoke to dailyfamily.ng about divorce in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

Mr Ehiz or Mr E as he is fondly called has been married to his wife Ibironke for the past 15 years. He corrected the notion that the Entertainment Industry has the highest rate of divorce.
He said: “Entertainment industry does not have the highest rate of divorce; the industry is just in the limelight and because as celebrities we are in the limelight, it looks like it is more.
People are divorcing all over the world; divorce is even small, spouses are killing themselves, murder is happening all around the world. Why this is happening, for me, I will say I really don’t know, ‘e be like say devil don enter’.”
Mr Ehiz pointed out that spouses are meant to stick to each other. He said:
“During the marital vows, you promised to be with one another, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, till death do you part.
Some churches are coming up with some very wonderful things nowadays and I feel very insulted not as a religious person but as a married person. They now say my own is for better, for better. There is a reason for that vow- ‘for better, for worse’.
I think people forget this that Marriage is a contract; I am going to be with this person, I am going to love this person, I am going to take care of this person. If you breach this contract, you are liable. Some will say I am tired of this marriage, there is no money, there is no love, there is no care, ‘I no do again’.”

Mr Ehiz gave his stand for those that are married, he said: “At no point do you say I’m not doing again.”
