On Monday, October 25, the Yola Chief Magistrate Court I Admin in Adamawa state ruled that one Adamu Abubakar, 27, be remanded in custody for allegedly sodomizing a 12-year-old kid.
On the 15th of October 2021, Adamu of Jimeta Town was accused of forcibly defiling the youngster through the anus, in violation of section 263 of the state penal code legislation of 2018.
After the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge of unnatural offence brought by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, the sitting magistrate, Abdullahi Mogammed Digil, issued the ruling.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Zakka Musa, had previously stated in a First Information Report (FIR) that the accused individual brought the youngster inside an unfinished structure at gate 4 of Jimeta Ultra Modern Market and forced sexual intercourse with him via the anus.
According to the prosecution, Adamu enticed the youngster into the premises and threatened to deal with him if he didn’t cooperate, according to Rabi Mohammed of Wuro Chekke, Yola South LGA.
The Chief Magistrate, who refused to accept Abubakar’s plea, ordered that he be detained in detention and that the case be extended until November 22, 2021.
He ordered the police to duplicate the case file and send it to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
