Cinema house gives new look to Oyo town
Residents of Oyo town and its environs especially movie – lovers will always remember August 19, 2017.
This was a day they have been waiting for Yinka Afonja, proprietor of ACE Supermarket, opened the first-ever cinema in the ancient town.
Most times, movie – lovers in the town and its environs especially during festive period like Val day, Christmas, Muslim festive etc travelled to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to catch fun.

Cinema house gives new look to Oyo town
With the open of the cinema, more money is expected to circulate within the economy of the town.
While commissioning the beautiful edifice, located on the Oyo-Ogbomosho Expressway, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was full of praises for the initiator, adding that he has not only brought development to the town, he has changed the face of Oyo.
He, however, urged indigenes of the town to cooperate with the founder, warning criminals to steer clear of the property.
Apart from the cinema which can sit 72 people conveniently, the two-storey building houses the supermarket, an eatery and boutique.
According to the Proprietor, Yinka Afonja, the cinema hall can also be used for seminars, conferences, annual general meeting etc.
