Majiya noted that the nurse had the intention to buy the baby for a couple who came to Kano from Rivers state to adopt a child as they had been without a child in their marriage of 12 years.

He said, although investigations are still ongoing, the suspects would soon appear in court.

“The couple told the Police that the nurse was deceiving them, that they came to Kano orphanage home with all their supporting documents to adopt a child legitimately and that they don’t know Hajiya Fatima,” Majiya added.
