Cases And Prevention Of The Female Genital Warts
The appearance of genital warts (Condyloma acuminata) is caused due to HPV (human papilloma virus) virus infection, and this is one of the most common among sexually transmitted diseases.

Anyone who is sexually active is at risk of contracting the disease, since HPV may appear quietly and can be diagnosed only in those who take the test regularly, that is, even if the person does not have warts, it may be Infected.

However, women are more prone to the risk of the onset of these warts, because their genital region is warmer and moister than men.

The virus can come in two forms:
1. Warts – They can grow heaps, acquiring form of cauliflower. In women, they may arise in the vulva, cervix or anus. In men, they may appear on the glans, scrotal sac or anal canal.

2. Lumps – which may have a reddish color.

What are the causes?
The main means of transmission of genital warts is through sexual contact. Among the main causes are:

Maintain any type of sexual intercourse without the use of condoms.

It is possible the development of warts in the mouth and throat, if the sexual contact is by oral routes. In addition, there are chances of growth of warts in the anus if the person has had anal intercourse, however it is not a rule, i.e through the “normal or married” relationship it is possible to develop warts on the anus.

The use of condoms can reduce the chances of transmission, but it is not 100% effective, since the genital warts do not necessarily appear in the penis or vagina, and can appear in nearby areas (in the groin, for example), coming into contact With the other person.

Having relationships with various partners
Since at least half of sexually active people are prone to developing warts, establishing sexual intercourse with multiple partners greatly increases the chances of HPV contamination. This is wrong for the family and can result in several

Unknow the partner’s STD history
It is important to know if the person with whom the sexual relationship is being kept is up-to-date, if there have been cases of contamination by other STDs and if it has been treated.

As mentioned at the beginning of the article, HPV may appear discreetly and may not show any signs. Therefore, keeping the exams up to date, performing the Pap smear annually is essential to keep your health on track .

In addition, vaccines for the prevention of HPV have been developed, but are more effective in those who do not have an active sex life. Therefore, in 2014, preventive vaccines were available for girls aged 9 to 13 years old through the Unified Health System.

The Pap smear is the most indicated to confirm the presence of the virus and the possible growth of warts.

The process is simple: a small sample is taken from the genital cells and analysis is performed to collect cells with abnormalities.

In situations where the warts are very small or invisible, the doctor applies a certain amount of acid in the genital area, which will leave the warts whitish, making them visible. After this procedure, he will perform colposcopy, which is an examination of the vagina and cervix using the colposcope (magnification instrument).

Is it possible to live with genital warts?
As benign as possible, warts can lead to cancer in the future. Therefore, it is possible to live with them, but it is very important that the treatment is done for removal.

In addition, it will be common to experience pain during sexual intercourse if warts have arisen in the genital area.

With regard to the pregnancy, the larger warts can cause complications during childbirth as to limit opening of the vaginal tissues. However, the chances of the baby developing warts are small.

Is there treatment for genital warts?
Genital warts are related to the risk of cancer in the cervix, vagina, penis and anal area.

That way, the sooner the diagnosis, the sooner the treatment will be started.

It will depend on what treatment the doctor will prescribe to you, there are ointments that can be applied by the patient himself, acids that can be applied by the doctors and, in more complicated cases, surgery .

Ideally, you should always follow your doctor’s advice and never self-medicate.

Taking the necessary steps to prevent genital warts from HPV, the risk of infection is lower and you can live without worries!

Buhari: 12 million Nigerian children are afraid of attending school

post-image

According to President Buhari, 12 million children in the country have been traumatized and are frightened to attend  school because of the high prevalence of kidnapping.

On Tuesday, October 26, the President announced this during the launch of the Safe School Programme in Abuja.

The President, who was represented at the ceremony by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, also stated that dealing with security concerns in the country has been difficult.

“The incessant attacks on the country’s education system such as kidnapping, abduction of pupils/students, increased activities of insurgence and general insecurity in our schools have exacerbated many factors responsible for the growing number of out-of-school children.

It is disheartening to note that even when the abducted students are released, the trauma of the incidences remains long in their minds; hence the plan to have teachers trained on psycho-social support.

post-image

Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), claims it would “convincingly” win the next gubernatorial election in Anambra and the presidential election in 2023.

John Akpanudoedehe, national secretary of the APC caretaker committee, said on Thursday, October 21 at the inauguration of the state congress appeal committee in Abuja that all members of the APC should see disagreements “within the party as family disputes and should not seek to destroy the platform which helped them in the past.”

“With the huge membership strength we have recorded during the last registration and revalidation exercise, there is no doubt that Nigerians still trust us and that we will win all the upcoming elections convincingly, starting from the governorship elections in Anambra, to Osun, Ekiti, and to the 2023 general election,” he said.

“Therefore, there is a greater need to sustain the trust of our party men and women and indeed all Nigerians.
