The Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sanni Bello has stated that ex-Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) still has a lot to offer Nigeria.
The governor stated this in his congratulatory message to IBB on his 76th birthday, describing him as a great leader and committed patriot.
In a message of goodwill to the ex-leader, Abubakar said, “our dear nation still has more to reap from your wealth of experience and deep wisdom in its journey to greatness.”
The message further added, “I am pleased to join your family and the people of the state and other well-wishers in thanking almighty for blessing you with the strength and wisdom to live a fulfilling life of purpose.
“At 76, your contributions to national growth has remained undiminished as you continue to fearlessly lend your strong voice and strategic support to the genuine efforts towards making our nation great. May the Almighty Allah bless you with more rewarding years to come and that is a continuing journey.”
The goodwill message from the former governor of Abia State and eminent businessman, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, described the former ex-president IBB as “a gift, he is a rallying point for national discourse and a uniting factor in our nation today.”
The ex-governor said that the former military head of State had “built men and women and grown a generation of leaders for our dear country Nigeria today with his legacies still crowning.”
Dr Orji Kalu also said that: “It gives me great pleasure to share the joy of your birthday with you. As you mark your 76th birthday, I pray that God will still keep you longer to play a greater role in the stabilisation of our country Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
He added that “Your life has been one of great sacrifice for the unity and progress of our country Nigeria today and gallant build of the continent.”
“ Right from your days as a soldier, you envisioned a great nation where everyone will be well accommodated and freely pursue their aspirations and ambitions.”
“You have worked, and still working, to keep Nigeria united and Nigerians happier and proud of their nation. At 76, Nigerians need you now more than they ever needed you more most especially at this time of our woes in the country.”
“And it is because you have proven yourself to be a conscientious and compassionate leader whose wise counsel has remained invaluable to our great dear country Nigeria.
“My family, Nigerians and I felicitate with you on this glorious occasion when you remember the day the Almighty God gave you to us as a gallant army and a most profound soldier. As we cut your 76th cake with you and click wine glasses, I pray that Almighty God will bless you with good health and preserve you, for our country Nigeria.
