9 Perceptions You Must Have About Money In Your Marriage…be free from financial hardships

-Bisi Adewale

There are 9 perceptions you must have about money in your marriage for you to be free from financial hardships. You can’t be free from financial embarrassment if you don’t have the understanding of these 9 perceptions.

9 Perceptions You Must Have About Money In Your Marriage...be free from financial hardships

These are:

  1. Money is from the Lord. Always remember that God is the source of money, never think it is your power that makes you who you are today, gives all glory to God, don’t ever give it to any man, man can only be a channel. God is the real, true and only source. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God, for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish His covenant which he sware unto thy fathers as it is this day.
  2. “Integrity first Perception. When you have this kind of perceptions you will be careful the way you make money you will never go ahead to make money in such a way that your name will be soiled. “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches and loving favour rather than silver and gold’. Proverbs 22:11.
  3. God first Perception. Most people are found of forsaking God as they pursue money but a wise man will put God first in everything he does and get his reward from him. When you put Him first in your business, His wisdom will help you to be the best in your trade “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy is credibility. Proverbs 9:10
  4. God’s Money Perception. This involves believing that there is God’s money in every money that comes your way and you give it back to God by paying it in His house as tithe, if you do this regularly you are only obeying God and preserving your life.
  5. Make all, save some. One of the best perceptions you can have in life is to have it in mind that it is not all money you make that should be spent. Someone rightly said, “If you are not saving money, you are not safe”. Saving money is not a gift of the spirit, it is a culture that must be personally developed, so don’t say you are not gifted in that area, make all the money you want to make but save some at all cost.

If it is worth spending, it is worth budgeting. To have a “budget perception” is very good and healthy for you, most people spend anyhow without planning, without budgeting, they don’t know how much they make per month and how much they spend, and they don’t know what is eating up their money hence, many ends up in debt.

6.Bank use Perception. Do you believe that we still have a lot of people who do not believe in the use of the bank. In this part of the world where a lot of our transactions are still done in cash most people are “banker less”. As the nation is going cashless now you will have no choice than to have a bank account, the truth is you cannot be able to marry your family money rightly if you don’t use a bank. The money you kept at home can be easily stolen, you can misplace it, it will not yield any interest and it can be easily mismanaged, you will be doing yourself a favour if you use a bank.

7.Investment perception. Don’t just save your money at home; take it to the bank, don’t just leave your money in the bank; invest it. You will become what is known as “money saviour”. Inflation will eat up your money and make it valuables by the time you need it, so have investment mentality.

8.“Goodman” perception. A good man leaves an inheritance to his children, children but the wealth of the sinners is stored up for the righteous. “Proverbs 13:22. Don’t ever wait for your children to sustain you at old age rather be a “good man” that leaves inheritance not just for his children but also for his children’s children. Work and handle money is such that your great grandchildren will still be eating from your labour years after you.

9.Couple Money perception. You can’t be married and be single financially if you live as couple spends as a couple, don’t separate your money from your marriage, be financially intimate.
